Our Offerings

Fitness based Classes at Dragonfly

Power Up

Power Up is Dragonfly’s HIIT class, and it will absolutely make you feel like a superhero! This high intensity interval training class alternates between strength training exercises and cardio bursts for a complete full body workout that checks every fitness box in one sweaty, energizing session. Don’t let the words “high intensity” scare you off! Modifications are offered for every move and every fitness level. All the equipment is provided, just show up! You got this!

Yoga Up

Yoga Up is for when you want to build strength, get your heart pumping, and sweat it out. Strength training with a bit of vinyasa, Yoga Up weaves yoga poses with weights, cardio bursts, and core work into one energizing, full body workout. Think of it as a hot HIIT class with a yoga kick! Every class is different, all fitness levels are welcome, and weights and blocks are provided so you just have to show up.

Flow & Lift

Flow & Lift is what happens when vinyasa yoga and strength training share a mat! We add light-to-medium dumbbells and low impact cardio into the mix for a class that builds strength, increases muscle endurance, and keeps your heart healthy. The yoga flows are real, and so are the gains!

Pilates Fusion

Pilates Fusion is our most core-focused fitness class: a 30-minute mat-based workout built on low-impact, controlled movements that target your abs, obliques, back, and glutes in ways that will absolutely surprise you. Woven into the class are mindful movement breaks to keep things flowing and shake out the burn. Think of it as serious core and strength work disguised as a really good time!

Circuit Up

Circuit Up is a fast-paced class that rotates through different exercise stations so every muscle group gets some love. You’ll cycle through cardio, strength, and yoga-based moves, utilizing weights or resistance bands for extra oomph. Pilates core work is woven throughout, usually with a dedicated core section because who doesn’t love extra core work! All fitness levels welcome, and you’re always in charge of your intensity.

Cardio Barre

Cardio Barre is what happens when barre gets a cardio upgrade! High intensity intervals are layered over ballet-inspired movements for a metabolism-boosting, endurance-building class that’s low impact and genuinely a blast. Work hard, move smart, and leave feeling like you really did something.

Barre

Barre is low impact, but rest assured it will give you the full body workout you are looking for! Influenced by ballet, pilates, and yoga, this precision-based fitness class focuses on small, isolated movements within deeply held postures that target the muscles you didn’t know you had (until the next day). Expect serious toning, improved posture, increased flexibility, and a metabolism boost, all without a single jumping jack. Not a dance class, just a really great workout.

Got fitness questions? We've got answers!

Wait, Dragonfly has fitness classes?

We do! We know we’re known for hot yoga in Madison, but we offer a full lineup of fitness and fitness-fused yoga classes across our 5 locations. Our fitness offerings cover HIIT, strength training, circuit workouts, resistance training, cardio, and more!

What kinds of fitness classes do you offer in Madison?

Quite a few! Our fitness class lineup includes Power Up (HIIT and cardio), Flow & Lift (yoga and strength training with weights), Yoga Up (yoga with cardio and strength), Circuit Up (multi-station circuit training), Barre (ballet-inspired low impact toning), Cardio Barre (barre with high intensity intervals), and Pilates Fusion (pilates and yoga blend with a focus on the core). Our classes offer something for every fitness goal and every fitness level.

Wait, your fitness classes are heated? Why would I want to do that?

Most of them, yes! The heated room helps warm up your muscles, increases range of motion, reduces risk of injury, and helps you recover more efficiently. The heat also elevates your heart rate which means a higher calorie burn and better endurance. And yes, you will sweat! It aids circulation and improves your body’s capacity to regulate body temperature. Plus, it feels amazing afterward. :)

Will I get used to working out in the heat?

You will — and faster than you might think! Most people find the first class or two is an adjustment, and then something clicks. Your body adapts to training in the heat pretty quickly, and before long you’ll be one of those people who loves it. We promise. It happens to almost everyone.

How is working out in a heated studio different from working out at a regular gym?

At a regular gym, your muscles take longer to warm up, your cardiovascular system works at a lower baseline, and you’re missing all the benefits that heat adds to your workout. In our heated studios, everything is amplified — muscle activation, cardiovascular effort, flexibility, and that post-workout feeling that keeps you coming back. Plus the community is way better. Just saying.

I'm a total beginner. Are your fitness classes beginner friendly?

100% yes. Every single class we offer has modifications and options so you can go at your own pace. Our instructors are really good at meeting people exactly where they are — whether it’s your first fitness class ever or you’ve been working out for years. No experience needed, just show up and we’ll handle the rest.

Do you offer HIIT classes in Madison?

Yep! Our Power Up and Circuit Up classes both incorporate high intensity interval training elements — cardio bursts, strength stations, and full body conditioning that gets your heart rate up and keeps it there. All fitness levels welcome, and you’re always in control of your intensity.

Do you offer strength training classes in Madison?

We do! Flow & Lift and Yoga Up both incorporate light-to-medium weights and strength training into their formats, and Circuit Up rotates through strength stations using weights and resistance bands. It’s strength training, but with a whole lot more fun than your average weight room.

Are your fitness classes good for weight loss and building strength?

Our classes are designed to build strong, healthy bodies — and a lot of our members see real changes in their strength, endurance, and overall fitness with regular attendance. We focus on how you feel and what your body can do, rather than the number on a scale. Come 2-3 times a week and your body will absolutely know it’s working.

Are your fitness classes good for runners and cyclists?

Really good, actually. Madison’s running and cycling community puts a lot of miles on their bodies, and our fitness classes fill in the gaps. Circuit Up and Power Up build the cardio endurance and full body strength that running the lake path and biking the Capital City Trail demand. Flow & Lift adds weighted strength training that improves power and efficiency. Your training will thank you.

Do you offer low impact fitness classes?

Yes! Flow & Lift, Pilates Fusion, Barre, and Cardio Barre are low impact, delivering a full body workout that’s easy on the joints and big on results.

How often should I take fitness classes to see results?

Most of our members find a sweet spot at 2-3 fitness classes per week. You can mix and match our fitness and yoga classes to build a well-rounded routine — strength one day, HIIT the next, restorative yoga in between.

Where are your fitness classes located in Madison?
