I was taking a lot of fitness classes when I became bored with them and started looking for something else. I knew about Dragonfly and wanted to check it out but I was intimidated, would I be able to handle the heat, would I be judged for my skill level, and all the other insecurities that were in my head. But I finally got up the courage and walked in. Everyone was so nice, I felt safe. Then my journey with hot yoga began!
How did you get started at Dfly?
When I was training for the Madison Marathon back in 2015, I injured my foot. I pushed through the marathon, but knew that I needed to take a break from running. I knew there were many different options for working out, but was so very lost on where to start. I took a hot yoga class with one of my good friends in the Milwaukee area and absolutely loved it! I knew I had to find a hot yoga studio near me. At the time, Dragonfly was the closest one and I was sucked in immediately! I absolutely love everything about it – especially the fact that there’s a class for everyone.
I first started taking yoga classes about 15 years ago. I was taking classes through my health care provider. I did several sessions and just never really loved it. It was always the same thing over and over and only one instructor.
Fast forward to Dragonfly opening and I thought I would give it a try as I love heat. I bought a 10 class pass and took my first few classes and I was hooked! It was then I knew this was for me and became a member.
I started going to Dfly when a friend of mine brought me along to a flow class three years ago. I loved the class and started my intro month shortly after.
Before Dfly I had gone to a handful of yoga classes randomly throughout my life. I had always enjoyed them but never enough to start doing yoga regularly, until I came to Dfly.
