How did you get started at Dfly?
My friend, Ashley Bruckner who is a Yoga-Up instructor, bugged me for a year to give DFLY a try. I did and I was hooked.
What is/was your yoga/barreamped experience before Dfly?
I had tried yoga a long time ago, wasn’t for me at the time. After trying it again I realized it was all about timing. I had 2 young girls at home at the time and couldn’t truly come to my mat and forget about everything going on in my day to benefit from the practice. Funny thing is, yoga was probably what I really needed back then!!
I got started at Dfly around January of 2017 when my friend Gretchen had started attending and she talked me in to joining her for a Flow class. I wasn’t very excited to go and I had absolutely no intention of becoming a yogi. I had done yoga only a handful of times before I entered Dfly and knew little to nothing about the practice. I made it through my first class by attempting to copy what everyone around me was doing. I was surprised at how mentally and physically challenging I found the hour to be and it really wasn’t at all what I had expected. The hot room, savasana, the scented towel at the end of class and the challenge of trying to figure this whole thing out brought me back for another class and soon after that I became a member.
Since high school, I never really established a consistent workout routine. That all changed when I joined Dragonfly. Although I had tried yoga several times, Dragonfly was where I became a true yogi. My friends used to troll me about how many “spins” I get in. “Spins” is a slang term we use when referring to Dragonfly classes because it’s more than just yoga. The variety of offerings is truly incredible and the instructors are top notch.
I started my yoga practice at Dfly shortly after I moved to Madison in summer 2016. The first class I tried was a Yoga Up class and it surprised me that yoga and fitness can be blended so well together. So ever since my first class, I dedicated myself to Dragonfly.
I didn’t have much yoga or fitness experience before Dfly. I had never heard of BarreAmped before I found Dfly.
