Downtown Yogi of the Month: Allyson Pulvermacher

How did you get started at Dfly?
After leaving my previous studio and not practicing yoga for a while, I decided to get back into yoga and try Dfly because of the variety of classes offered and abundance of different class times that would work with my schedule. I quickly picked up my practice again after falling in love with the classes, the instructors, and the studio itself!

What is/was your yoga experience before Dfly?
As a three-sport athlete in high school, I was always interested in new ways to stay active but had struggled in college to find ways to stay active that I both enjoyed and that fit into my schedule. I had always doubted that I would be the “type” of individual that would enjoy yoga, but I was at wit’s end with trying to find the motivation to go the gym on my own. After spontaneously trying a class with a friend, I fell in love and continued doing yoga for about a year until the following summer, when my studio’s class times became limited and my schedule was less flexible. I had tried staying active by running, hiking, kayaking, etc., but I always felt that it wasn’t the same total mind and body experience that I had in a yoga class. After a few months, I decided to begin my practice again and I have now been doing it ever since!

Sun Prairie Yogi of the Month: Chris Plampin

Last December, after a particularly stressful day at work, a coworker (Dragonfly member Peg Harting) encouraged me to join her for yoga at Dragonfly. Exhausted after a twelve hour shift in the emergency room, I was apprehensive about how much I would actually enjoy the class. Within the first fifteen minutes my feelings shifted, and by the end of the class, I felt like I had more energy than when I started! I truly could not wait for the next time I could attend class. I spent December trying as many classes as I could during the introductory month and happily became a member in January.

Fitchburg Yogi of the Month: Kirstyn Nelson

I got started at DFly in Fall 2017 because of another regular yogi Nicole Pierstorff. I cannot tell you how many times she asked me to go to yoga, I told her no probably close to 50 times. Eventually in early October I finally said I’d go to a class, did my free trial class, signed up for the $40 intro month and now have been a DFly member ever since and I love it.

I literally have never done yoga in my entire life before Dfly, except maybe gym class in highschool 10+ years ago. Even with no prior yoga experience I never felt intimidated walking into Dragonfly, the instructors and fellow yogi’s make everyone feel comfortable no matter if you have no yoga experience, or having been practicing yoga for years and years.
