Sun Prairie Yogi of the Month: Tami Lanier

I began at Dragonfly in Sun Prairie in October 2015. My work/life balance was non-existent. The prior six months I had allowed work to consume me and I did not like the person I was. My body was constantly tight and uncomfortable and I had no energy or zest for life – my spirit had dimmed. I promised myself I would join Dfly when it opened in May 2015, yet; I convinced myself that I was just “too busy” to join and the months kept passing until I walked through the door in October.

I had attended approximately ten yoga classes off and on in the prior three years before I walked through Dfly’s doors. I had zero knowledge of correct form, yoga poses or different class options.

Middleton Yogi of the Month: Ashley Bruckner

My sister-in-law convinced me to go to Dragonfly Hot Yoga two winters ago when I realized I could not eat and drink whatever I wanted anymore…the dryer didn’t shrink my jeans.

Except for a P-90X class, (which my husband and I tried one time and decided not to try it again), I did not have any previous yoga experience. I enjoy how each class and instructor challenges me in different ways. And honestly, I enjoy the people! I enjoy talking to and getting to know all of the girls at the front desk, the instructors, and other Dragonfly members. There are a lot of fun and inspiring people in the studios!

Fitchburg Yogi of the Month: Marci Birkes-Geffert

I moved to Madison a year ago and started looking for a yoga studio convenient to work or home. At first I was dismayed to find only hot yoga available (it was summer!) because I was sure I would not like it. I’m a northern girl and love the cool weather! The first class I went to was on a Saturday morning in June. I was leisurely drinking my coffee and saw on the internet that Dfly had a class starting in 30 minutes. So I grabbed my stuff and decided to give it a try. I was surprised that the heat did not make me feel sluggish or groggy like I expected. Afterwards I remember feeling so amazing! I was hooked!

Downtown Yogi of the Month: Kirstin Froehlich

I moved back to Madison and happened to be living a block away from the new downtown Dragonfly. Looking for a fun, relaxing, yet tough workout to get in shape for my upcoming wedding was at the top of my priority list. With a leap of faith and some encouragement from my fiancé, I decided to give it a try and have been hooked ever since! I like to say I was in the right place at the right time!

I had honestly never done yoga, let alone hot yoga before starting at Dragonfly! I was a true beginner, which was the reason I was a little hesitant about it. Not only had I never done yoga before but I have always been anxious about group exercise. Dragonfly eased that anxiety and I felt I fit right in despite my lack of yoga experience.
