Middleton Yogi of the Month: Meghan Johnson | Dragonfly Hot Yoga Madison WI

Middleton Yogi of the Month: Meghan Johnson

How did you get started at Dfly?
I was training for a half marathon and bored with logging miles, my friend Colleen suggested I try a Power Up class with her, I was immediately hooked! I had done cross training previously but never in a heated room, taking classes regularly has greatly improved my lung capacity and endurance while running.

What was your yoga/BarreAmped experience before Dfly?
I’ve attended other yoga studios in Madison, but typically worked out at home. Dragonfly is the only place I never feel judged or out of place, whatever your fitness level is you are welcomed by everyone.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
Everything! It’s my time to take off my mom and work hats, be greeted warmly at the front desk, chat with close friends, and sweat out any stresses all the while listening to a great playlist.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
I’m a very introverted person, since attending Dragonfly I’ve made some incredible friendships that extend outside of the studio. My body confidence and strength has grown immensely. My kids have noticed the changes in my health and well-being, and my husband appreciates all the glute work.

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I try to attend 5 times per week. Power Up is my favorite, all the instructors are incredible.

Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
I’m grateful for everyone at Dragonfly. Cassie’s Flows are challenging yet extremely relaxing, and she always has a quote at the end of Flow that resonates with me. Ashley has taught me that burpees aren’t really that bad, cardio can be fun and that singing out loud to a Wilson Phillip’s song isn’t embarrassing. Sam’s knowledge of fitness is incredible, she always pushes us to our limits all the while making us laugh. Kati’s kickboxing and booty songs along with bright smile and high energy are the best ways to start Friday mornings.

Instructor Samantha Brenner: “Meghan is so deserving of Yogi of the Month! She is a dedicated client who is a perfect example of how Dragonfly truly is a family. We’ve talked about how she looks forward to seeing the instructors, taking her favorite classes, and, most importantly, her friends made at Dragonfly when she comes to class. She is focused and works hard in class, but is also ready to chat, smile, and engage with others in class as well. I can’t think of a better YOM! Congrats, Meghan!”
