Dragonfly Hot Yoga RYT 200
My Teaching Style
My teaching style is welcoming, uplifting, and engaging, offering something for everyone. I strive to guide students home in their bodies, tuning out the noise of the day and tuning in to the movements the body craves. I encourage students to listen and learn from themselves throughout the flow. I love to learn and as my yoga journey continues I strive to thread yogic philosophy beyond the asanas into my classes.
Yoga asanas have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, my older sister is an instructor and I learned from her early on. I am a lifelong athlete having spent years playing basketball, running cross-country, and powerlifting. I also coached powerlifting, helping people find their physically strongest selves before yoga expanded what I understood strength to be. I took the 200hr yoga teacher training here at Dragonfly in the winter of 2022 and now I love to incorporate strength and offer modifications to challenge the mind-muscle connection in my flows. I believe there is a balance and both must exist together, yin and yang, and I empower students to explore this balance within themselves.
Ardha Chandrasana/Half Moon - When I first started yoga this pose totally vexed me and some days it still does! I absolutely love the challenge Half Moon poses and the strength, balance, and grace it requires.
