My Teaching Style
I have a passion for teaching fitness classes! I think every class should be a fun, welcoming space for every body. I have a somewhat eclectic music taste and I love pumping the tunes in class…you never know if the next song will be emo punk, electric pop, metal, or pretty much any other genre with a good beat. I love to teach a challenging class! That said, I prioritize giving variations of exercises so each person can choose to take it up or down- find your challenge zone! I believe safety and listening to your body are the most important aspects of fitness- I encourage all participants to pay attention to form and how their body feels in different exercises.
Experience
I have taught group fitness classes for over 5 years and it really is my favorite thing I do! My bachelors degree is in Exercise Physiology and I have used this as a foundation for learning to teach different forms of fitness. My full-time job as a Fitness Supervisor with UWHealth Sports Medicine has allowed me to work with many different people doing many different forms of exercise, particularly medically-based strength training.
