How did you get started at Dfly?
I came to Dragonfly with a friend in 2016. I had always been interested in yoga, but I really didn’t know what I was doing. Ten years and more than 1,600 classes later, I think it’s safe to say it stuck! What started as something I wanted to try has become a big part of my life and one of the few places where I can completely shut everything else out.

What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
Zero. I’d tried gyms, but they never stuck. Dfly classes became my first real yoga experience.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
My work can be stressful, and I love having an hour where everything else in my brain has to shut up for a while. On top of that, the community of awesome people is what keeps me coming back. Dragonfly is my happy place, and the people are a big part of that.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Absolutely. I’m probably more physically fit now than I’ve ever been, and the mental benefits are just as important. Dragonfly has also become my accountability coach. I show up for class, even when I don’t necessarily feel like it, and I’m always glad I did. People at work even know not to schedule anything after 5 on my class days!

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
Usually four to five days a week. As for a favorite, it depends on what I need that day. Yoga and Power Up classes are my physical challenge. Yin every Friday is my way to decompress after the work week. It has varied over the years, so my answer is: all of them!

Instructor Erin E.: “I chose Amy because she consistently brings such positive and enthusiastic energy to the studio. She’s personable, hardworking, and always motivates those around her to push themselves and do hard things, while also making my job as an instructor so much fun and easy. I genuinely look forward to seeing her every week, and I know so many others in the studio feel the same way!”
