How did you get started at Dragonfly?
I moved to the Madison area in the later part of 2024. I had always seen Dragonfly around and wanted to try it. Once I got to January 2025, I was freezing cold in my first Madison winter and thought that there was no better time to take my first class. I’ve been hooked since!

What was your yoga or barre experience before joining us?
I had done a little bit of yoga before Dragonfly. I’ve figure skated competitively my whole life, and I would occasionally incorporate yoga into my training. It was never something I was able to do consistently, but I always had interest.

What do you enjoy most about attending Dragonfly classes?
Hands down the community! Dragonfly is by far the most positive and welcoming studio I’ve been to. I always feel inspired to do my best and walk out a better person than I was before I came in. One fun thing that I love is that I almost always run into instructors taking another instructor’s class. I think that speaks volumes about the community and passion each instructor puts into it.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since you started taking classes?
I definitely feel more in tune with my body, and my confidence has improved significantly. I also have more energy throughout the day.

How often do you attend, and do you have a favorite class?
I attend classes 3-4 times a week. I’m a big fan of Power and Yoga Up. I had always felt too shy to lift weights consistently, not knowing which exercises to do, the right form, etc. I love lifting weights now and I love the confidence it has given me! It helps too having a great playlist to lift my spirits and keep it fun – shoutout to Carrie and Ms. Taylor Swift. I also really enjoy adding a Slow Flow or Yin class to my routine – I always walk out feeling refreshed and in a good mood.

Please feel free to share any other thoughts about Dragonfly, hot yoga, or yourself—we would love to know more about you!
One thing people often have mentioned to me is how impressed they are with my consistency of attending classes. It’s funny that they say that – I’ve never really considered myself to be the most regimented person. It’s easy to keep up with attending classes at Dragonfly because they are so much fun and have brought so much joy to my life – both in the studio and outside of it!
