Sarah L. | Dragonfly Hot Yoga Madison WI

Sarah L.

How did you get started at Dfly?
In late 2023, I was searching for a studio that felt like the right fit. I think I tried nearly every one in Madison through ClassPass, but kept feeling boxed into specific formats—cycling, yoga, Pilates, or HIIT. Then I signed up for the one-week trial at Dragonfly, and instantly knew this was the studio for me. In any given week, I can take everything from an intense Power Up class (shout-out to Taytum’s morning classes!) to a relaxing Yin, with some Barre and Flow classes mixed in. It’s the variety I didn’t know I was missing.

What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
I started taking yoga classes in college, back in upstate New York, and practiced on and off through my early twenties. Outside of yoga, I began running after college, completing a few half-marathons and one full marathon, before transitioning into high-intensity interval training for both cardio and strength. Adding barre into the mix has been great. It’s always humbling how sore you can get from two-pound weights!

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love the structure and routine of Dragonfly. I tend to go to the same classes each week, and it’s been really rewarding to meet other members and feel a sense of community while also moving my body. I also get bored easily, and Dragonfly has been the only workout routine I’ve stuck with long-term without losing interest.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Definitely. I feel stronger and more flexible. I can lift heavier in Power Up classes, and I finally nailed crow pose in yoga (with blocks), thanks to Tiffany’s arm balance workshop!

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I usually attend 5–6 days a week. That sixth class is almost always a Yin class, if I can squeeze it in. My favorite is Taytum’s 6:30 am Yoga Up on Thursdays. I never thought I’d look forward to an EMOM, but here we are.

Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
I just feel really lucky to have the privilege of being in such a welcoming environment, and to be able to move and grow alongside a great community.
