How did you get started at Dfly?
I was referred by Brendan Baxter to try an early morning class. I was introduced at the time while a teacher transition was taking place, and Kyle was the next instructor from there.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
No yoga experience, I was a ballroom dance instructor for many years. That would be the closest training I have received prior to Dragonfly.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
The mental and physical alignment to start my day.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
I’ve seen the largest change happening in my mental state. When I started classes I had gone through a hard rough period in life. It was instrumental in the healing process and continues to be that.
How often do you attend classes? 2-3 times per week. Favorite class?
Usually the 5:45 early flow class. It’s been changed a bit, but the timing couldn’t be better.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
Dragonfly is a healthy environment for all. I would think most men are timid about joining something like Yoga for the first time. I would say that it’s an easy environment to get comfortable in right away. It’s refreshing to see the quality forethought towards most classes and the studio on a daily basis.
Instructor Tara B: “I always enjoy when Matthew is in one of my classes. He always shows up with a quiet, calm presence in the room that grounds everyone around him. Week after week he shows up to class bringing peace and consistency to the flow. I love having him in a class.”
