Aishwarya K. | Dragonfly Hot Yoga Madison WI

Aishwarya K.

How did you get started at Dfly?
I was trying to get into a fitness routine and went gymming for a few weeks. But somehow I did not find pleasure in doing it. I came across this studio when I was driving past Junction Road. One day I decided to give myself an honest try and that’s how my journey started. I’ve been in love with Dragonfly since then!

What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
I am a complete newbie. I had absolutely no experience before.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
Starting with zero flexibility and no familiarity with a pose, and slowly becoming comfortable with it. Dfly classes/instructors taught me to listen to my body, pause when needed, and let go of self-judgment. It gave me permission to grow imperfectly and still make progress.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Yes. Yoga brought structure to my day — my meals became more regular, and that one hour of fully disconnecting from work gave me lasting calm and energy.

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I attend an average 5 classes per week. And the most favorite being Fire Slow Flow on Saturday Mornings. That gives me a great start to the day and an amazing finish to the week.

Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
I work full-time remotely for a big tech company and I never really had a sense of community due to my remote work. Before yoga, my world revolved around work, family, cooking, and spending time with a small circle of friends. Dragonfly gave me a reason to step out of my house. Even as an ambivert, the simple smiles and ‘good evening’ exchanges genuinely make my day. Today, I feel part of a community that prioritizes self-care and well-being, and because of Dragonfly, yoga has become a meaningful part of my identity.

Instructor Brenda A.: “As a student new to yoga Aishwarya started with slow paced classes. It was wonderful to watch her confidence and strength grow through dedicated practice. She has cultivated a practice that now includes Slow Flow, Yin, Core and Power classes. Recently Aishwarya shared her love of yoga and Dragonfly with her sister. Aishwarya is a thoughtful and kind person whose presence makes our world a better place.”
