I got started at Dragonfly downtown after covid… I wanted to find a new yoga home that offered many classes throughout the week with knowledgable and interesting teachers and staff.
Before Dragonfly— many years of yoga and pilates— in Madison- Iyengar yoga at Mound Street yoga with the late Roger Eischens, Flow, Astanga, Avenger based, etc at The Studio Madison on Williamson Street…Pilates with Kathleen Conklin… in NYC— at various studios with teachers- shivananda, Iyengar, flow, Bikram … and Gyrotonics with Julio Horvath
I love the community, the teachers and staff— it is a welcoming place. I love the heated rooms and the windows to look out. I am very grateful Dragonfly is here downtown.
Dragonfly has helped me rehab before and after hip replacement! And will again for my second hip.
I try to take 5 times a week but sometimes it’s only a couple. My favorites are Fire Fusion, Flow, Vinyasa with singing bowls.
I was a professional modern dancer with Martha Graham Dance Company in NYC years back, and now my husband and I are the artistic directors of Kanopy Dance Company— a nonprofit & resident company at the Overture Center. Dance is a calling for me full of love and struggle. I don’t perform much anymore but choreograph, teach and coach which I love doing. Yoga not only helps keep me going (constant rehab LOL) but is a refuge and reveals/grows mindfulness.
My fabulous husband Robert and my lovely doggie Reka are amazing – and the two best things in my life. Most of the time they pick me up at Dragonfly down in the lobby by the fireplace – after class is done – and they have had a walk — I love seeing them first thing when I am coming out of yoga!
