
How did you get started at Dfly?
Many years ago, my friends, Denise and Tammy, encouraged me to come to a class with them. I loved the challenge and it didn’t take long to get hooked! I used to attend with class passes, but really had a chance to explore the variety of class offerings when I became a member.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
I had no barre experience and little yoga experience when I started at Dragonfly. My friends assured me, and they were right, that experience was not necessary! Everyone was so welcoming and the instructors were fun, informative and accommodating. There are points of entry for folks at every level!
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love the variety of classes! There is everything from a relaxing flow class to a fun, but kick-your-butt fitness class with cardio and weights. I enjoy meeting new people and forming connections with the yogis who attend regularly. The environment is welcoming and has a positive upbeat energy!
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Yes! I’m definitely more fit and flexible. Movements I do in day to day life have benefited. I appreciate that instructors often reference and reinforce the functional benefits of our practice. I leave class with physical and mental benefits that I carry with me throughout my day.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I attend class about 5 times per week. According to my Dfly app, I’ve attended almost 500 classes. It’s hard to narrow down a favorite class or instructor because there are so many awesome choices! According to my app, Power Up is my most attended class. I love all the instructors but of course, Jori is my favorite! I’m biased as she’s my daughter, but objectively, I love her playlists and the way she encourages you to make each class your own and to take what you need and leave what you don’t. I appreciate being offered a challenge and am often pushed beyond what I thought were my limits.

I love being a part of the Dragonfly community. It’s a family affair as I often attend classes with my husband and daughter. As a high school teacher, I regularly bring pieces of my yoga practice into my classroom—whether it’s an inspirational message, a calming technique, a breathing exercise, or taking a moment to practice gratitude. Yoga has a way of weaving itself into everyday life, and I love how my yoga practice is carried with me outside of the studio. That is the beauty and power of Dragonfly!!
