Lindsey K. | Dragonfly Hot Yoga Madison WI

Lindsey K.

How did you get started at Dfly?
I first discovered Dragonfly shortly after it opened back in 2011. At the time, I was working as a personal trainer, and one of my clients—who was involved in designing the studio—kept talking about how beautiful the space was going to be and how incredible the owners were. I had just started exploring hot yoga to help with muscle recovery and mental clarity. As a new mom, I found the peace and pace of the studio to be a complete contrast to the rest of my life. That contrast felt like a breath of fresh air, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
Before Dfly, I was mostly focused on high-intensity training and strength work. I grew up in Middleton, was a gymnast through high school, and went on to pole vault for UW-Madison—so flipping upside down has always been part of my movement story! Yoga was a newer practice for me at the time, but one that quickly became essential.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love the variety—there’s truly a class, time, and location to fit whatever my body and schedule need that day. But most of all, I cherish the intentional space to move slowly, breathe deeply, and not have to speak or answer to anyone. It’s a dedicated time just for me. And of course—those cold, scented towels at the end? Absolute magic (especially when a teacher places extra ones on your feet!!) I’ve also loved the community and connections of the other yogis in class, even if it’s just a smile or gentle recognition that we are often in the same class.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Without a doubt. There’s a direct connection between how often I attend and how grounded, calm, and emotionally resilient I feel. It helps me bring my best to work, to my relationships, and to my family—which includes my husband, four kids, and a very full life!

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
My goal is to attend three times a week. In a perfect week, I’ll hit a Flow, a Yin/Flow combo, and an Aroma Yin. I love to mix in a Core Flow or Power Flow, too, depending on how I’m feeling.

Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
I live in Fitchburg with my husband Chris (we’ve been married 17 years) and our four amazing kids: Preston (16), Scarlett (12), Mabel (7), and Howie (4). Being close to multiple studios is a huge bonus. When I’m not at Dfly or Orange Theory—or chauffeuring kids around town—I work as the SVP of Finance and Operations at Evergreen Healthcare Partners in Middleton. Yoga continues to help me reconnect with my body and mind, and I’m grateful to have such a welcoming, supportive space to keep showing up in.

Instructor Kyle A.: “Lindsey is such a joy to have in class! Always present with kind words and a thoughtful practice, challenging herself one moment and caring for herself in the next— her patience and determination inspires myself and those around her to flow in the moment, as she makes each practice her own. I’m grateful to be able to practice alongside you Lindsey!”
