Nathan F. | Dragonfly Hot Yoga Madison WI

Nathan F.

How did you get started at Dfly?
I first got introduced to Dfly when my wife and I moved to Verona, WI. I had previously been doing yoga elsewhere but when we relocated we were looking for a place to continue our yoga practice that was closer to our new home.

What was your yoga experience prior to DFly?
Prior to coming to DFly, I had been practicing yoga for about 10 years. I enjoyed hot yoga, particularly Bikram. I will note I took about a 6 year hiatus from yoga due to having kids but recently got back to Dfly last summer and haven’t looked back since!

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I enjoy the entire yoga experience. Arriving early to stretch and relax in the warm room, the yoga classes and the community. The instructors are all friendly and provide unique experiences to each class.

Have you experienced any changes in our total well-being since taking classes?
Yes, I find the classes good for my mental health and also my physical health. I have noticed I am more flexible and less sore.

How often do you attend classes? Favorite Class?
I would go every day if I had the time but with a family that typically means I only make it 2-3 times per week. I enjoy many classes but some of my favorites are Taytum’s Power Ups and Suki’s Flow classes.

My wife is also an avid yogi. Unfortunately, with three small kids aged 3-6 we do not often get to attend together, but we make sure each of us is able to attend 2-3 classes per week because we love it and it’s important to stay strong and healthy.

Instructor Melissa P.: “Besides his familiar and engaging smile, I continually am impressed with Nathan as he finds his zone early. He shows up timely, finds his spot in the studio and sets his mat up just so. He might not realize it, but it’s a routine I have noticed which contributes to his practice being the most he can make out of it. He exudes an atmosphere of positive anticipation. During class he is in a zone (some might call this meditation) — mindful of his transitions and thoughtful of his positions by bringing more depth or challenge as necessary for him. His practice is mindful. He respects what he brings and doesn’t project a better than thou attitude and enjoys whatever is in store; very comfortable and a pleasure to have in class. I find joy just being around him and his practice.”
