How did I get started at Dfly?
A friend of mine asked me to attend a yoga class with her at the Fitchburg location so I did. I remembered how much I enjoyed yoga from earlier experiences and I signed up with Dfly and haven’t looked back.

What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
Yoga became a vital part of my training in 2009 and 2010 when I was training for Ironman WI. For me the ability to finish the race came down to being able to stay in the moment and be grateful for where I was at each struggle point in the race. The ability to ask your body and mind to do something so intense without feeling panic was what yoga brought to the race. I’ll never forget it.

What class do you enjoy most attending Dfly classes?
That’s a tough one. I enjoy Yin, Chakra, Slow Flow, and Flow/Yin for a variety of reasons. There is truly something for everyone at Dfly. The teachers are outstanding! They are the reason that some day I would like to become a Yoga teacher.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Without question! Yoga has brought a calm to my world and has allowed me to feel like I actually can focus on myself and not feel regret for making time for myself. Physically I feel stronger after each class and I’m ready to take on just about anything.

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I attend typically 3-4 times a week depending on my schedule. My favorite class is Yin on Monday nights in Middleton. It just seems to start the week off in the right frame of mind for me and Brenda is pretty magical in her teaching.

Share any other thoughts?
Dfly has been the most open community of yoga influencers I have ever encountered. Its remarkable the ability to be such a large community and offer truly something for everyone with no judgement. I can’t wait to see what 2025 holds for all of us yoga enthusiast at Dfly!

Instructor Carrie Skawinski: “Lori always arrives with a smile on her face and her energy, focus and dedication are reflected in her strong practice and she motivates everyone in the room. She always knows when to push herself and when to let go of what does not support her practice. Lori is an inspiration to all and I am so grateful that she is part of the Dragonfly community.”
