Ann R. | Dragonfly Hot Yoga Madison WI

Ann R.

How did you get started at Dfly?
I started at Dfly during Covid. I had been regularly working out prior to the pandemic and had been wanting to incorporate yoga into my routine for a long time. I was doing Body Flow classes before the pandemic so after the lockdown the time was right to switch to Dfly.

What was your yoga and fitness experience before Dfly?
I practiced yoga poses and meditation with my dad as a child and have practiced on and off since. I still use those meditation techniques to calm and center myself.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
What I enjoy the most attending Dfly classes is the calm and centered feeling I experience after classes. Sometimes, I come into class with my mind moving in a million directions. I ALWAYS leave calm, focused and happy and SO happy I made the time for myself.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
I am definitely more flexible and my upper body is stronger. My balance and functional movement have improved. Both are essential components of longevity.

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I attend class about twice per week. I usually take a Flow class. I’ve tried most of the classes and enjoyed all of them. For now, Flow and Yin suit my needs.

Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
On days I’m not at yoga I attend boot camp classes. My husband and I love to travel. Arizona, Colorado, and Europe are just a few of the places we love to go. We are animal lovers and have one dog and two cats. I would have ALL of the cats if it was even remotely practical. When I’m at home you might find me making sourdough bread, gardening and watching funny animal videos. We have two adult children. Sarah, an accountant in Denver and Megan, a teacher in St Louis Park, MN.

Instructor Leann Haroldson: “Ann always takes a positive approach to her practice. She is consistent, committed, and not afraid to try something new. Ann’s dedication pays off and it is fun to see her becoming a stronger yogi with every class.”
