Middleton Yogi of the Month: Jen Pham

How did you get started at Dfly? What was your yoga/barreamped experience before Dfly?
I started taking classes at Flyght actually. Everyone there was so nice and welcoming that I wanted to try out the sister yoga studio and eventually signed up for the all access passes. I had never done yoga and tried 1 barre class so I very intimidated at the thought of going and trying to keep up.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
After the first few classes, I was hooked. I love leaving class feeling just how I need to feel whether it’s that I’m a sweaty mess and feeling strong or relaxed and more focused for the rest of my day. I get to take what I need from each class, each pose, and each breath.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Well besides being able to do an actual push up, it’s been my greatest stress reliever and as well as a welcome physical and mental challenge. Knowing that I can breathe through the discomfort of a difficult pose with sweat dripping down my face is something I take with me, to breathe through the challenges and inconveniences that’s pop up throughout the day.

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I try to attend 3-4 classes a week and love to start my day off with flow yoga in the morning. It requires minimal motivation to go to a class because all you have to do is get through the door. You can let everything else go and just follow the instructor as they guide you through the workout, when and how to get to each pose, transition to the next. You can stop thinking and just be in the moment.

Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
I love Dragonfly! I’ve only had great experiences with every class and instructors and everyone has been so welcoming, accepting, and kind.

Instructor Suki Warda: “Jen is a delight to have in class. She embodies a quiet calm strength. As you may notice practicing next to Jen, you will feel her supportive, kind, and nurturing energy. It is an honor to have Jen in class and as a stable member of our Dragonfly community!”
