Fitchburg Yogi of the Month: Fran Lutz

How did you get started at Dfly?
I was intrigued with the idea of hot yoga. I started with Yin classes because I wasn’t sure if I really knew what I was doing. I really loved the Yin classes though. I then signed up for a Whole 30 program through Dfly and that got me started on the Flow classes and transformed my way of eating. I am much healthier now.

What is/was your yoga/barreamped experience before Dfly?
I was doing yoga videos at home. I thought this was teaching me how to do yoga but you really need to be in a group atmosphere with an instructor for guidance.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love the different classes to choose from. You even get a different class just from different instructors. And I feel so good afterwards.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes? How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I am more calm, relaxed and stronger too. Since I retired 1 1/2 years ago, I am able to attend class at least 6 days a week. I like to mix up my classes for the week but I think my favorite class is Fusion. I like the mix of Fire and Flow.

Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
Hot yoga has become my hobby. I have been a member of Dragonfly for about 6 years now and I have to thank all the instructors that have helped and inspired me to be the yogi I am today. So much that I want to be an instructor.

Instructor Kelly Perna: “Fran is well deserving of the honor of Yogi of the Month. Her commitment to her practice is an inspiration to her fellow yogi’s. I am so excited for Fran to be joining the yoga teacher training at Dragonfly this summer. My message to you, Fran, compliments of the wise Dr. Suess ~ “You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so…get on your way!” I’m looking forward to switching places and taking YOUR class one day soon.”
