Middleton Yogi of the Month: Stephanie Noskowiak

How did you get started at Dfly?
A friend of mine brought me to a class a couple years ago. I wanted to become more flexible so I figured I would give it a try. I started going to the Flow classes until I found the Power Up and Yoga Up classes. After attending these classes I was hooked.

What is/was your yoga/barreamped experience before Dfly?
I ran track in high school and college and heard yoga was so good for your body. So I started with P90X yoga and it was something I was never motivated to do and never understood why people enjoyed it so much. Once I was introduced to hot yoga I instantly loved yoga, especially being in a hot room. Before Dragonfly I never saw yoga as an actual workout. I later found out how wrong I was and how hard the yoga classes were.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I enjoy being in a safe community where I am able to push myself and try new poses. Suki always calls it “play time.” She encourages us to go past what we feel are our limitations.

Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
I feel more grounded and centered. I also feel more focused at work. My flexibility and stability have dramatically improved. I’ve always been in a weight room and I actually feel stronger when coming to yoga.

How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I usually attend classes daily, if I miss a day I’ll go to 2 classes the next day. Power Up/Yoga Up/Circuit Up/Flow. I can’t choose!!

Instructor Shawn Smith: “Stephanie is like a ninja. She’s quiet and stealth-like and moves like an athlete. She rises to the challenge every single class. She embraces each exercise or pose and takes queuing and coaching really really well. She’s amazing!!”
