I started yoga in January 2014 after purchasing a 10 class pass at a Madison West Athletic Booster Association (MWABA) fundraiser. My yoga experience prior to Dragonfly was minimal.
I love the variety of classes that Dragonfly offers and the individual styles of each teacher.
In the wide array of classes, I can build strength, balance, flexibility and fitness. It is very satisfying to continually build my practice so “someday, one day” I’ll be able to do that tricky arm balance.
Yoga has it all–whether I come by myself or on the yoga bus (thanks to Marti, Elizabeth, Mona, Teresa, Mary Ellen – carpooling pals). The Dragonfly Yoga community is so encouraging and this definitely adds to the yoga experience.
Since I started taking classes I feel better, breathe easier, stand taller and have a greater range of motion.
I attend classes 5 to 6 times per week; mostly Flow but also Power Up, Yin and Yoga Up classes. My favorite class is the one I’m present in, the one I’m sweating in and the one that ends with savasana!
Since the opening of the downtown studio, I do have a dream yoga day: attend back to back (Tiffany Geier) 75 minute Flows on Sunday– Middleton then Downtown. Who would like to join me? :)
One of my favorite things about yoga is practicing side-by-side with new to very experienced yogis. We’ve all found a home.
Instructor Tami Raitt: “Where do I start with Carol?! What an honor it has been to have gotten to know Carol over the past year. Her infectious personality, charming wit and commitment to provide herself with a solid workout every time she enters Dragonfly is unmatched. She is compassionate, patient and focused during each class and perseveres through every challenge. Carol brings lightness with her to class, and she brightens my day every time I see her. Her ability to bring laughter, light and humor with her all while working exceptionally hard in class provides inspiration to her workout buddies as well as myself. I cannot imagine class without Carol and her beautiful smile and humor. She lights up my Thursday mornings!”
