Sun Prairie Yogi of the Month: Dan Griffiths

How did you get started at Dfly?:
A friend recommended Dragonfly Hot Yoga to me.

What is/was your yoga/barre amped experience before Dfly?:
I started yoga over 15 years ago as physical therapy after an auto accident. Quickly realizing it is a mind and body experience that recharges me.

What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?:
I enjoy the variety of classes. Having a strong Type A personality, Dragonfly Hot Yoga affords me a challenging practice and the humility to not master everything.

What are your favorite classes at Dfly? How often do you attend classes?:
Attending Yoga Up, Core Flow and Flow lets me fully engage in the experience. This seems to refresh my mind and body.
I practice yoga, cycle or some form of workout six or seven days a week, part of my Type A personality.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?:
My words of wisdom are…embrace your eccentric side, just be the you that you want to be.

Instructor Nichole V: “I enjoy having Dan in class. He is always willing to try new things. His strength and patience are seen on his mat. Dan is very dedicated to his practice. Congrats Dan!”

Middleton Yogi of the Month: Robert Olsen

I started at Dragonfly in 2013 as part of recovering from a serious back injury. I had done some yoga in the past, somewhat sporadically, and knew it could be a key part of recovery. For some time I was limited, and stayed mostly with Yin classes, which I still do and enjoy. Eventually I was able to do more physically challenging classes, and increase the frequency. I had come to believe that if a person could have a daily practice, it would produce dramatic changes.

Fitchburg Yogi of the Month: Haley Adams

I started coming to Dragonfly in November of 2016 and I’ve been a monthly member ever since! Fitchburg is my home base, but I’ll occasionally head to Middleton for classes.

I started doing hot yoga when I lived in Boston and joined a studio there in 2014. As a long-time dancer, I craved the flexibility work and enjoyed the athletic challenge. I had put a lot of strain on my body during years of long distance running, and yoga felt like I was treating my body well for the first time in a long time. It wasn’t until I moved and had a lag in my practice that I realized how much the mental challenge and inner peace had changed my way of thinking. Good for the body AND soul! As I’ve moved across the country various places, I’ve always found a studio first, because I consider it a basic need in my life. I travel frequently and always bring my mat in my luggage to create my own “studio” when I need it!

Downtown Yogi of the Month: Samantha Dziak

I got started at Dragonfly because it was the studio my favorite instructor in Milwaukee recommended. I went to my first free class at Dragonfly and loved it. After that class I knew this was the studio I wanted to be a part of. I love the instructors, the space, and the energy at Dragonfly.

I had a little bit of yoga experience before joining Dragonfly. I had done yoga here and there over the past couple of years but this past summer I started going at least 3 times a week. I started going to yoga to release stress and keep myself sane in this crazy world.
