Sun Prairie Yogi of the Month: Heather Campbell

I got started at Dragonfly Hot Yoga in Sun Prairie a little over a year ago because a friend told me I should try it out and I instantly became hooked. Before coming to Dragonfly, my only yoga experience was work out DVDs or YouTube Videos… I had no idea what hot yoga was.

What I enjoy most about Dragonfly classes is the variety of classes and all the options for class times. I could never wake up before work to exercise and found that at 8:30pm I am super motivated to work out. I tried so many gyms but this is the first exercise that I have stuck with in my entire life. I have also cultivated a family at Dragonfly that motivates me to keep coming.

Middleton Yogi of the Month: Megan Pardi

I was trying to find a gym that I could commit to and still feel comfortable. I knew I needed a place that provided an array of classes that kept me accountable for my fitness and prevented me from getting bored. Many of my coworkers were doing yoga and recommended Dragonfly. In 2015, I did my intro month and fell in love. I’ve been a member ever since.

Prior to joining Dragonfly, I had done a few yoga classes but was never taught the proper techniques. I’m also not very coordinated and sometimes felt silly attempting the poses. The instructors here are awesome and so willing to assist me in bettering my practice. This environment allows me to push myself, yet still have fun. I have come to enjoy the process both mentally and physically.

Fitchburg Yogi of the Month: Sonya Fredrick

One of my clients was a yoga instructor at Dfly. We were talking about how I hadn’t done yoga in a few years and missed it. She encouraged me to come to the free trial class. I brought a friend and we both enjoyed it. The warm room hooked me to sign up for the one month unlimited since it was January. I continued to buy 10 class passes until I finally jumped into a membership.

My first experience with yoga was prenatal classes. They were once a week and I really enjoyed them. Since I was pregnant with twins, I felt they helped me with stress mentally and physically. After I had my boys, I continued to take hatha yoga classes weekly. I always looked forward to them. But as I stayed at home with my boys during the day and went back to work part-time it became harder to find time for yoga.

Downtown Yogi of the Month: Miranda Manzanares

I began to regularly practice at Dragonfly in June 2016. Up until 2016, my yoga practice had been nonchalant, attending classes with friends every now and then to try out new studios in Madison. My first class at the downtown Dragonfly studio was with one of my best friends who had expressed her admiration for Dragonfly and encouraged me to come along. This was the first class that allowed me to feel a physical, spiritual, and mental connection with my mat that left me feeling empowered and yearning to become more dedicated to my practice.
