A great friend gifted me with the trial membership early last December after we had chatted about starting yoga in the New Year. I ended up participating in my first class the day after receiving the gift. After completing the trial, I joined and competed the 30 and 60 day challenges.

I knew a few of the basic poses from yoga classes we had offered at Fleet Feet. In my head I knew that yoga would be great for my running, but it took actually COMING to the class to make it all happen. My first classes at Dragonfly were amazing because the instructors made it so easy to get into the flow of things. They always make everyone feel welcome.

Middleton Yogi of the Month: Jared Marske

I started at Dragonfly Hot Yoga with the free trial class, then purchased one month for $40 the same day, which then led to becoming a full time member during my one month trial.

I had tried yoga a few times as it was incorporated into our warm ups and cool downs at another gym. While working out, I sustained a shoulder and leg injury where I was using a lot of yoga/core strengthening exercises to try to get back into the gym. After that didn’t work I tried several other yoga studios until I found Dragonfly.

Fitchburg Yogi of the Month: Kristen Niedzwiecki

I got started at Dragonfly in the fall of 2011 when the Fitchburg location first opened. I have always enjoyed yoga, but had never taken a hot yoga class. To be honest, I didn’t really think I would enjoy it, but figured I would give it a try. While I do enjoy working out, I have never had the tolerance for working out in the heat.

Before coming to Dragonfly, I had done other yoga and Pilates classes, but it had been years prior to living in Madison. I never really looked for yoga classes and instead began a regular weightlifting workout and did various cardio workouts and that became my routine.

Downtown Yogi of the Month: Kristen Luczak

I started out at Dragonfly on a whim with a friend who didn’t want to go to a class alone, and I fell in love. I started off with an Intro Month and purchased the student membership before it ended! I had little to no experience with yoga before I started at Dragonfly, apart from taking classes here and there throughout the years. One of the main reasons why I fell in love with yoga was how it changed my whole life. I could breathe easier when I ran and I had more energy to get things done. I felt more relaxed after a flow class and I felt stronger after Yoga Up.
