Sun Prairie Yogi of the Month: Carrie Schulte

I have been a runner for over 30 years. While buying running supplies at Fleet Feet in Sun Prairie, I noticed that Dragonfly was opening next door. I have never thought of myself as someone who would do yoga, but hearing about and seeing the benefits my youngest daughter Inga was receiving from yoga, I thought I’d give it a try. My only prior experience with yoga was videos or looking on the internet. My oldest daughter Ashley and I signed up for the intro month and the rest is history. Now spending quality time with my girls is determined by which yoga classes we can attend together!

The classes have a peaceful and energetic feel. There is something about the feel of the studio that keeps you present, but keeps the rest of the world “out there” and not in the room with you. Since starting yoga at DFLY, my blood pressure is down and the classes have helped me with stress management. I have also noticed that my core and arms are stronger. I’m still working on flexibility and balance, but that is the great part about the classes – you can take just what you need from each one. It is amazing how 20 people in a room can be lead to the same pose, but we are all getting something different out of that pose.

Middleton Yogi of the Month: Chananate Uthaisar

I started my yoga practice at Dragonfly right after I moved to Middleton about six months ago. My practice has helped me become acquainted with my new city, people and environment, as well as accommodate to a new job.

I was first exposed to yoga when I was in graduate school. What I remember about my first hot yoga class, is that it was unpleasant for me. It seems funny that I was frightened of the heated room, even though I am originally from Bangkok, Thailand. I gave hot yoga another try with my free trial class at Dragonfly, and had a different experience than the one in Thailand!

Fitchburg Yogi of the Month: Susan Levine

I have been doing Pilates for several years and one of my fellow Pilates classmates recommended Dragonfly BarreAmped classes as a good compliment to Pilates. I tried a BarreAmped class and was hooked – it was a challenging class and I could tell that it would help me to get stronger if I stuck with it.

I don’t have any yoga experience – I take the BarreAmped and BarreAmped Boot Camp classes.

I like the calm, peaceful atmosphere and the friendly and professional instructors at Dragonfly. I also like the challenge of BarreAmped classes – you can push yourself to do more as you get stronger and that feels good.
