
I have been a runner for over 30 years. While buying running supplies at Fleet Feet in Sun Prairie, I noticed that Dragonfly was opening next door. I have never thought of myself as someone who would do yoga, but hearing about and seeing the benefits my youngest daughter Inga was receiving from yoga, I thought I’d give it a try. My only prior experience with yoga was videos or looking on the internet. My oldest daughter Ashley and I signed up for the intro month and the rest is history. Now spending quality time with my girls is determined by which yoga classes we can attend together!
The classes have a peaceful and energetic feel. There is something about the feel of the studio that keeps you present, but keeps the rest of the world “out there” and not in the room with you. Since starting yoga at DFLY, my blood pressure is down and the classes have helped me with stress management. I have also noticed that my core and arms are stronger. I’m still working on flexibility and balance, but that is the great part about the classes – you can take just what you need from each one. It is amazing how 20 people in a room can be lead to the same pose, but we are all getting something different out of that pose.
