Middleton Yogi of the Month: Susan Stolen

Most of my workouts prior to starting at Dragonfly had been a party of one. I was looking for a workout in a group environment. Yoga intrigued me for this group dynamic. I also loved the idea of the mind/body/spirit connection. My neighbor, Peggy, started enthusiastically talking about Dragonfly Hot Yoga. She loved it – going almost every day. So, I said “I need to try it.” Try it I did and I LOVED IT!!! Thank you Peggy!

I love the variety of choices. The 5:30 am classes with Suki begin my day with a great thought provoking practice and ideas that awaken my body and mind. Such positive energy to start my day! I love the concept of “practice.” Suki is so good at reminding us that this is a practice – there is no “perfect” pose. I look forward to seeing my extended family at each class and I feel so lucky to have this community.

Sun Prairie Yogi of the Month: Julie Voights

I started at Dragonfly because I wanted to try something different. I have previously struggled with trying to fit in workouts when I had a gym membership and when I did, I dreaded going. I could barely do thirty minutes of cardio without being completely bored out of my mind. I wasn’t feeling motivated to work out, so I knew I needed something different in my routine.

Dragonfly Hot Yoga opened up next to Monks (where I work) and I thought it would be fun to try something new.
I did not have any yoga experience before starting at Dragonfly, so I didn’t know what to expect. The entire Dfly staff was so welcoming and encouraging on my yoga journey.

Downtown Yogi of the Month: Rose Courville

I started at Dragonfly at the Fitchburg location soon after it opened. I have been a member three separate times now – two baby boys each led me to take a break. I rejoined each time afterwards!

I had never given yoga much thought in the past, but my husband was a big fan. When we moved to Baltimore in 2009, my schedule did not allow for much exercise. As a birthday present, my mother gifted me a 5-week introduction to a yoga course for me to learn how to move into each pose properly. That provided a great foundation for my practice.

Fitchburg Yogi of the Month: Carol Chen

I started yoga in January 2014 after purchasing a 10 class pass at a Madison West Athletic Booster Association (MWABA) fundraiser. My yoga experience prior to Dragonfly was minimal.

I love the variety of classes that Dragonfly offers and the individual styles of each teacher.

In the wide array of classes, I can build strength, balance, flexibility and fitness. It is very satisfying to continually build my practice so “someday, one day” I’ll be able to do that tricky arm balance.
